In 1989, when workplace sexual harassment was rarely recognized as a legal issue in Japan, lawyer Michiko Asahi takes on an unprecedented case after office worker Megumi Uehara seeks to sue her company and supervisor over harassment that cost her her job. Despite a rookie lawyer's warning that the case has virtually no chance of success, Asahi believes their fight could change the future. Facing a legal system and society firmly rooted in conventional attitudes, the women risk their careers and reputations to challenge the status quo and make their voices heard.
